English Edition 2010

The first English edition is available now.

It took us a while, but we translated the whole book into English to bring it to an even wider audience. Steve Chilton joined the author team for this edition, he helped mostly with local knowledge and, of course, the language. As a native English speaker he could correct Fred's and Jochen's feeble attempts at mastering the English language.

The content is mostly the same as in the 3rd German edition. The Mapnik chapter has been somewhat expanded and there are some updates added here and there.

We added an Appendix "Mapping the World" with information about different countries and OSM communities around the world. Many thanks to the contributors who helped us put this information together. This appendix is available under the CC-BY-SA 2.0 license. You can get the PDF here or an editable OpenOffice document from the OSM SVN.

You can order the book from bookdepository.co.uk. They deliver world-wide with free shipping. But you can also order it though Amazon or any book shop. It might take a while though for the book to work itself through the system before it appears in all the catalogues.
